Samiksha
Samiksha, though affectionately known as “Sam” by most children, believes that meaningful learning begins with connection rather than hierarchy. One of the first things she tells children when she meets them is that they do not need to call her “ma’am.” She finds formal titles unnecessarily distancing and prefers to build relationships based on mutual respect, trust, and genuine human connection.
Her work with children is rooted in the belief that they are far more emotionally aware, observant, and thoughtful than they are often given credit for. Through years of experience, she has learned that teaching is not merely about delivering instruction; it is about listening deeply, nurturing curiosity, and creating environments where children feel safe enough to question, reflect, express themselves, and grow authentically.
For Samiksha, working with children is a constant reminder of the openness, imagination, and sincerity with which the world can be approached. It is a space that she finds deeply meaningful and refreshingly honest.
At Abheek, she will be teaching English language and leading a Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program that she has designed herself. The program focuses on emotional literacy, communication, self-reflection, and helping children develop a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, and the world around them.

RAMYA DEVI
Ramya Devi is an artist and educator whose work is rooted in a deep love for nature, creativity, and the unique ways children learn and express themselves. Her journey began by working closely with children through hands-on learning experiences that brought together art, science, play, and exploration.
Over the years, she has worked with children across diverse settings, including tribal schools, government schools, private institutions, NGOs, and alternative learning communities. These experiences have strengthened her belief that meaningful learning emerges through curiosity, observation, and direct engagement with the world.
As an artist, Ramya is drawn to natural and sustainable materials, working primarily with clay, hand block printing, watercolor, and nature-inspired art forms. Her approach encourages children to slow down, observe deeply, engage their senses, and discover their own creative voice.
Inspired by child-centered and nature-based approaches to education, she sees art not merely as a subject but as a way of understanding oneself and relating to the world. Through her work, she hopes to nurture imagination, sensitivity, confidence, and a lifelong sense of wonder in children.
